As some of you may know, our family was struck by tragedy yesterday evening. Brian’s cousin, her two daughters, and her new husband were killed in a car accident.

I won’t be posting names to protect the privacy of others, but do ask for prayers for our family, the other families involved and the other man involved. Thankfully he is listed in good condition and was not at fault.

I would especially ask for prayers for the girls’ father, who was sadly on the scene almost immediately, and for Brian’s aunt. Her granddaughters were her world, and losing them and her daughter simultaneously has been devastating.

These sweet girls were frequent fixtures at Brian’s parents’ house. They were 7 and 4, and we were only learning to know their individual personalities. They will be sorely missed.

We will be with our family for quite a while. Internet is non-existant on the mountain, and cell service is spotty. Thank you all in advance for prayers. We certainly need God’s peace, strength, and comfort.

I don’t have the words either…but wanted to share this poem I came across:

We pray that in this time of loss
You’ll feel God’s love much more
And that you’ll find your comfort
In the presence of the Lord
We pray God pours upon you
    His sweet amazing grace
And overflow your heart with peace
As you live in His embrace
